Evaluation and Grading System
Engineering Cycle Overview
The Engineering Cycle at TEK-UP University lasts three years and is structured into six semesters. The first two semesters constitute a common core, covering:
- Fundamental scientific and technical modules
- Practical work and projects
- General culture and opening modules
- English and French language courses
- Professional certifications
- A mandatory internship
Specialization Phase
Starting from the third semester, students choose one of two majors that prepare them for engineering specializations:
- Telecommunications and Networks
- Computer Science
The specialization phase includes:
- Specialized courses and seminars
- Teamwork and communication modules
- Personal development and human skills training
- A learning project
- Professional certifications
- Entrepreneurial challenges
- A mandatory professional internship
Assessment of Modules (Paniers)
Each module group, referred to as a “Panier,” is graded from 0 to 20. A Panier is validated if its average is ≥ 08/20.
- Homework
- Lab work (TP)
- Exams (DS and final exams)
- Mini-projects
- Presentations
Admission After the Main Session
- Overall yearly average ≥ 10/20
- No Panier with an average < 08/20
Students failing these conditions may attend the remedial session only for non-validated Paniers.
Calculation After the Remedial Session
- Remedial exam score replaces the original exam score
- Or replaces the DS score
- The higher resulting average is retained
Redemption (Compensation Rules)
- Up to two non-validated Paniers if overall average ≥ 10/20
- One Panier if overall average is between 9.50 and 9.99
Grade Review Procedure
Students must submit a request within 48 hours of result publication. Grades may be kept or updated after review.
End of Study Project (PFE)
The sixth semester is devoted entirely to the PFE (minimum 15 weeks). The thesis counts for 30 ECTS credits.
- Project management
- Technical execution
- Interim reports
- Written thesis
- Oral defense
Evaluation of the PFE
Repetition Rules
Students not admitted after the remedial session are considered repeaters. With administrative approval, they may keep validated modules (≥ 10/20) and retake all others.
Requirements for Obtaining the Engineering Degree
- Validation of all five academic semesters
- First-year internship
- Second-year internship
- End of Study Project (PFE)
