7th Edition of the “Tunisian-German Winter School 2025: Digital Future 7.0”
The 7th edition of the “Tunisian-German Winter School 2025: Digital Future 7.0” was held from November 24 to 28, 2025, in Hammamet, Tunisia. This annual short mobility initiative was financially supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and the DAAD, under the framework of the “Ta’ziz Partnership for Democracy” project. The event aimed to strengthen academic cooperation between three institutions: TEK-UP (Tunisia), Ibn Tofail University (Morocco), and Hochschule Schmalkalden (Germany). The event was a vibrant celebration of energy, innovation, and shared enthusiasm.
The intensive program brought together highly motivated Bachelor and Master students from the three participating universities to focus on the pivotal topic: “Citizen Science Approaches as the Nucleus of Interconnected Change Management in the MENA Region.”
The academic goal was to explore how citizen science can drive digital transformation and sustainable change management across the Middle East and North Africa region. Activities included specialized seminars and practical workshops, encouraging the application of innovative methodologies in an international setting, complemented by plenary presentations (e.g., by the regional DAAD representative) and discussions.
Collaboration between participants from Germany, Tunisia, and Morocco created an effective international working environment. Students gained valuable opportunities to practice intercultural communication, develop teamwork skills, and build professional networks across continents. Thanks to DAAD-funded scholarships, which covered mobility and accommodation expenses, participants could fully focus on the program’s academic activities.
These cross-cultural interactions are crucial for promoting mutual understanding and preparing students to tackle complex global challenges, aligning directly with SUAS’s commitment to internationalization.
